Health check-up for
foreign residents – Sunday, November 11, 2007
@
We are organizing the annual health
check-up program for foreign residents again this year. All foreign residents
or residents of foreign origin are encouraged to attend the event. The program
is designed to allow foreign residents to undergo a comprehensive medical
check-up at a very subsidized rate (normally costs over 10,000 yen and
takes a week). This is to make sure everyone can afford an advanced health-care
program. This program lets participants know about their health conditions in
detail and can get advice on any preventive measures that needs to be taken.
Treatment after the check-up can also be arranged. We would like all foreign
residents to live a physically and mentally healthy life in Japan, and take
advantage of this medical program. You can get the tests done, consult with a
physician and/or talk with the nutritionist all within 2 hours. Translators
are provided and a volunteer will guide each participant throughout
the process. You will be able to take home all your check-up details. No
insurance or identification is required. All records will be confidential.
The following are the details of the check-up:

General Hospital

1. Who and why is this program being organized?
This program is organized by Community Aid Bridge, a
non-profit, private international organization in Saku city in cooperation with

finding reports of foreign residents not being able to go to hospitals because
of the lack of funding and/or not having health insurances. On many occasions
many waited too long to have checked and consequently cost a lot for the
treatment.
